Abstract
Otitis media with effusion is a common and frequently occurring disease in children, and one of the most common causes of hearing loss in the pediatric population. To further understand the relationship between otitis media with effusion and allergic rhinitis in children, relevant research literature was reviewed. Research shows that, from epidemiology and pathophysiology evidence, otitis media with effusion and allergic rhinitis are related, and treatments against allergy are beneficial for otitis media with effusion in short-term and can effectively prevent its recurrence. The rate of recovery from otitis media with effusion is significantly increased after treatment with steroids. These findings provide an important refer-ence for further studies of the relationship between allergic diseases and the mechanisms of pathogenesis of otitis media with effusion, the effectiveness of anti-allergy treatments for recurrent otitis media with effusion, and development of addi-tional medical treatments for the disease.关键词
