Abstract

Objective To explore the optimal dose of seretide for senile chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in moderate to severe stable period.Methods 132 patients with moderate to severe stable COPD treated at our hospital from May,2013 to May,2015 were selected and divided into a control group (conventional therapy),a small dose group (seretide 50/250 μg),and a large dose group (seretide 50/500 μg) according to different treatment methods,44 cases for each group.The clinical efficacies were compared between these 3 groups.Results The FEV1,FEV1/FVC,FEV1%,6-MWD,and clinical symptom score were significantly better after than before the treatment in all the three groups (P<0.05) and were best in the large dose group after the treatment,with statistical differences between these three groups (P<0.05).After the treatment,PaO2 significantly increased and PaCO2 significantly decreased in the small dose group and the large dose group (P<0.05) and the changes of PaO2 and PaCO2 were significantly higher in the large dose group than in the small dose group (P<0.05).Conclusion Seretide can significantly improve pulmonary function,clinical symptoms,and so on of the elderly moderate to severe stable COPD patients and large dose has more advantages.
