This paper summarized the difficulties of traditional materials in the contemporary and expounded that traditional materials should find a new way of application and explore innovative applications in different ways. Through some applications in modern landscape design this paper reflected value of traditional materials in the modern landscape design and construction and argued that we should criticaly inherit and use traditional materials.
