Abstract
Objective:To reveal the anatomic features and distribution rule of the maxillary septum. Method:CT image data were collected from 360 Han Chinese patients who accepted cone-beam computed tomo-graphy(CBCT)scanning in the Department of Radiography in Suzhou Dental Hospital.Mimics 17.0 software was used for three-dimensional reconstruction of the maxillary sinus, and the number, shape, location, and bilateral symmetry of the maxillary septum were detected.Results:The prevalence of maxillary septum was 37.8%,and the bilateral concurrence rate was 34.6%.The Kendall’s correlations coefficient(tau)between antimeres was 0. 357( P<0.01) .The site was mostly located in the molar zone.The gender,age,and the presence or absence of the teeth/tooth corresponding the sinus,didn't significantly affect the occurrence rate of the septum(P>0.05). Conclusion:The prevalence of maxillary septum in the Han Chinese population is high.Understanding their ana-tomic characteristics and distribution rule is of great clinical significance.关键词
