Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effectiveness of hemispherotomy for children with refractory epilepsy .Methods We conducted a retrospective review of clinical data in 7 children with refractory epilepsy who underwent peri-insular hemispherotomy .The effect of epilepsy surgery was obtained according to the last result of follow-up and judged by Engel's standard . Results After the follow-up of 6 months to 2.5 years, the surgical effect of all the 7 cases were Engel-I level and there were no severe complications after surgery .The sensorimotor function were not decreased and the cognitive and living skills were improved in varying degrees . Conclusion Hemispherotomy is a safe and effective surgical procedure for children with refractory epilepsy .关键词
