摘要

Abstract

Yield strength of austenitic stainless steel can be enhanced and the wall thickness and the weight of the equipment can be reduced by using the cold stretching technique.On the premise of safety, realizing light-weight of cryogenic vessels has significance to energy conservation and emission reduction. In the process of cold stretching technique for cryogenic vessels the internal pressure needs to be main-tained at a certain value for a period of time.Cold-stretching pressure Pk shall be between 1 .5 and 1 .6 times Pc(calculating pressure)in a typical cold-stretching operation.If a 5%higher cold-stretching pres-sure is applied during the first 30 min to 1 h,the amount of time the vessel is subjected to Pk may be re-duced to accelerate stain formation.This paper will be based on cryogenic vessels production under differ-ent cold-stretching pressure holding mode to explore the effects of strain rate.Some suggestions about su-pervision and inspection during the manufacturing process are also provided.
