摘要

Abstract

A constructed rapid infiltration (CRI)was developed to treat municipal wastewater with the mixture of sea sand and campus soil.The tests were conducted to investigate its pollutants’removal effects, especially nitrogen.The reactor structure was also optimized to enhance the total nitrogen removal.The results showed that CRI exhibited better removal effects on organic compound and ammonia nitrogen with the removal efficiency as 78% and 92% respectively;but the total nitrogen removal efficiency was only 33.4%;the COD and NH +4 -N removal were mainly focused on the upper 40 -cm layer,whereas the total nitrogen removal and denitrification occured on the lower 60 -cm layer of infiltration medium.Furthermore,the saturated zone with 30 cm in length was set up to artificially increase the anoxic zone and enhance the activity of denitrifying bac-teria,which could made the removal efficiency of total nitrogen reach 64.8%.
