Abstract

Since the poor absorption property of an ellipsoid cavity absorption coating in low frequency range, the Comsol finite element model of a multi-layered ellipsoid cavity absorption coating is built. The finite element model is verified by the transfer matrix method and its absorption characteristics are simulated. It is indicated that the curves of the theoretical calculation results from the transfer matrix method and the numerical simulation results are roughly in agreement, so the finite element model is validated. The finite element analysis shows that the absorption characteristics of the multi-layer material structure are superior to the monolayer material structure in the same perforation rate. Besides, influences of perforation rate, coating thickness, loss factors and Young’s modulus on the absorption coefficients of the structure are analyzed. This work provides a reference for further acoustic optimization of the structure.
