The application of Public Participation Geographic Information Systems in Landscape Architecture
摘要
Abstract
Public participation geographic information systems(PPGIS)originated at two meetings of the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis(NCGIA) in 1996. PPGIS makes use of geographic information systems(GIS) technique to broaden public involvement in policy making, urban planning, landscape design and other relevant fields. The paper wil discuss the prospect of the PPGIS methods in the landscape architecture field through introduce the practical cases. The paper briefly reviews the theory of PPGIS and introduces its applied range and framework. We wil choose three studies on urban park benefits、national forest planning and regional landscape evaluation respectively, to explore how to use PPGIS to broaden public access to project information, colect data and get public opinions. Based on these, summarize the advantages and limitation of PPGIS methods and find out the key issues and research priorities for PPGIS.关键词
