Preparation of mesoporous manganese dioxides and catalytic oxidation of formaldehyde

Abstract
The mesoporous manganese dioxides were synthesized by precipitation of potassium perman⁃ganate and hydrogen peroxide. The morphology structure of manganese dioxides was characterized by X- ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), brunauer emmett tel er (BET) and Fourier transform in⁃frared spectroscopy (FTIR). Mesoporous manganese dioxide was used as catalyst of formaldehyde catalytic oxi⁃dation tests under normal temperature and pressure and matt environment. The catalytic oxidation activity of manganese dioxides was confirmed by the degradation test of formaldehyde. The results showed that after 4 h, the formaldehyde could be oxidized to carbon dioxide and water, and the formaldehyde purification efficien⁃cy was 99%.关键词
