Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in patients with gastric cancer .Methods:231 gastric cancer patients diagnosed with pathology after surgery were divided into low NLR group (<2 .8 ,n=165) and high NLR group (≥2 .8 ,n= 66) according to preoperative NLR .The clinicopathological factors ,postoperative OS and DFS were compared between two groups ,and the prognostic factors were evaluated by COX univariate and multivariate analysis .Results:More lymph node metastasis ,more advanced TNM stage and lower serum albumin level were observed in high NLR group (P<0 .05) .The 1-year ,2-year and 5-year OS of high NLR group were lower than that of low NLR group (75 .8% ,60 .6% ,48 .5% vs 87 .9% ,77 .6% ,61 .2% ) (P=0 .039) .The median DFS of high NLR group was shorter than that of low NLR group (16 months vs 49 months) (P=0 .000) .In COX univariate analysis , NLR ,tumor invasion ,lymph node metastasis ,TNM stage ,age and serum albumin were associated with OS and DFS (P<0 .05) .In COX multivariate analysis ,TNM staging was an independent prognostic indicator of OS(P=0 .000) ,TNM stage and NLR were independent prognostic indicators of DFS (P=0 .000 ,P=0 .024) .Conclusions:NLR is an independent prognostic indicator of DFS in gastric cancer ,and the prognostic significance of NLR for OS remains to be further explored .关键词
