Comparison of the Acoustic Radiation Characteristics of Simply Supported Rectangular Plates in the Air and in the Water

Abstract
The acoustic radiation characteristic parameters of simply supported rectangular plates in the air and in the water are studied and compared. The structural vibration equation in the air and in the water are established respectively. The Rayleigh integral formula is used to express the sound pressure of the structure surface, and the governing equation for vibration speed of the structure surface is obtained. By the orthogonal of the vibration modes and coordinate transformation, the acoustic radiation impedance is changed to a double integral form, so as to determine the structure’s vibration mode coefficients and the structure’s acoustic radiation characteristic parameters. Finally, the radiation sound power, the mean square velocity and the radiation efficiency of a simple supported rectangular thin plate in the air and in the water are calculated respectively and the results are mutually compared. This work can be applied to structural vibration and noise control.关键词
