Abstract

The vibration attenuating function of the blocking mass is analyzed based on the wave theory. The closed loop structures of box-shaped and solid blocking masses are designed and introduced to the main engine pedestal according to the principle of impedance mismatching and wave conversion. On the basis of the modal density, the overall ship structure is divided into FE substructure and SEA substructure. The FE-SEA hybrid method is introduced to predict the vibro-acoustic performance of the cabin. Comparing with the experimental data, the validity of the simulation results is verified. Comparing the cabin’s vibro-acoustic performance of the closed loop pedestal structure with box-shaped hollow blocking masses with that of the original pedestal structure, the influence of the blocking masses on the vibration suppression effect of the pedestal structure is analyzed. It is shown that the cabin with hollow blocking masses structure has better performance of vibration isolation and noise reduction than that with the solid blocking masses and the original structure. Especially in middle frequency domain, performance of vibration isolation and noise reduction is better than the performance in low frequency domain.
