Methods 84 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of International Classification of Diseases, tenth edition(ICD -10)were divided into the study group(42 cases)and the control group(42 cases)by the random number table. Both groups received escitalopram treatment for 12 weeks, and patients in the study group received team interpersonal psychotherapy once a week. Hamilton Depression Scale -17 item(HAMD -17),Social Disability Screening Schedule(SDSS)and Generic Quality of Life Inventory(GQOLI -74)were used before and after treatment for 12 weeks. Results After treatment, the scores of HAMD -17 and SDSS of two groups were lower than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.01). The scores of HAMD -17 and SDSS of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05 or 0.01). The scores of GQOLI -74 of both groups were improved, and the total score and scores of dimensions of social function and psychological function of the GQOLI -74 in the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P <0.01). Conclusion Compared with escitalopram treatment alone, escitalopram combined with team interpersonal psychotherapy may be more effective to improve depression symptoms and social function of geriatric depression patients, and to improve their quality of life.关键词
