Fast fairing method for ship-hull surfaces with complex bow and stern based on 3D models

Abstract
Based on the point net of offset and complex ship-hull parameters, using preliminary surface models made by 3D CAD software, this paper presents a fast fairing method for ship-hull surface modelling with complex bow and stern based on 3D models. With fairing simulation 3D-models and the surface inter?section algorithm, the fairing point net of offset for arbitrarily complex bow and stern of ship-hull surfaces is first obtained. The method then divides the splicing and faring process into three stages:surface reinter?polation,G1-splicing, and surface fine-tuning. In contrast to traditional splicing and faring method based on a single control point of surface, this method improves the efficiency of surface's splicing and faring greatly, while the interior continuity of the surface and the precision of the offset points can be guaranteed.关键词
