摘要

Abstract

Changes in plant community biomass and biodiversity along soil moisture content gradients were studied in Xilin River basin,Inner Mongolia.It was found that species richness and biomass were significant uni-modal correlated with soil moisture content,no significant correlations between Shannon-Wiener index, Pielou's evenness index and soil moisture content were found.Both species richness and Shannon-Wiener index correlated with community ground biomass,but Pielou's evenness index did not.These data suggest that soil moisture content has extremely significant effect on species richness and productivity of plant communities in semi-arid grassland,but has little effect on community evenness.Factors other than soil moisture content affect plant community structure in semi-arid grassland.
