Abstract

Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics 0.94(Na0.535K0.48)Nb1–x(W0.5Zr0.5)xO3–0.06LiSbO3 (x=0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04) were fabricated by a conventional solid phase sintering method. In the ceramics, W6+and Zr4+appear as a group to replace Nb5+. And the effects that these cations with different valences brought to KNN-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were investigated. The results show that crystal structure changes from tetragonal to orthorhombic as the doping amount increases, and the lattice space distance becomes more covalent as well. In the ceramics, fine comprehensive properties can be achieved when x=1%, i.e., piezoelectric constant d33 is 203 pC/N, planar electromechanical coupling factor kp is 0.309, relative dielectric constantεr is 813, the Curie temperature TC is 350℃, and the sintering property is also improved. It is indicated that this doping method needs to be further investigated.
