Statin in Cancer Therapy
摘要
Abstract
Statins are the drug of choice for hypercholesterolemia. Recent studies demonstrate that statins can prevent and treat malignant tumors besides cholesterol lowering effect. It was found that statins have inhibitory effects on the growth of cancer cells. Here, we summarize the role of st⁃atins in promoting cell apoptosis, inducing cell differentiation, inhibiting the growth of tumor angio⁃genesis and the proliferation of cancer cells, and review the clinical studies and advances concern⁃ing the relationship between statins and tumors. We also look at the advances of statins in cancer therapy and the prospects of statins for the treatment of tumors.关键词
