摘要

Abstract

Polymer-stabilized blue-phase liquid crystal display based on Kerr effect is designed to realize the narrow viewing angle mode for information protection in public.Through using several uni-axial films,the polymer-stabilized blue-phase liquid crystal display can exhibit a good narrow viewing angle,whose contrast ratio over 10∶1 is only within 20 viewing cone as expected.Moreover,the op-erating voltage of the proposed device has been reduced to 14 V,which can be driven by the main-stream a-Si TFTs and achieved the peak transmittance 7 1%,which can make the LCD more efficient in availability ratio of the backlight.Compared with the conventional narrow viewing angle mode,the proposed device does not have complex electrode structure or a number of compensation films,which can satisfy the standard to produce in industry.The narrow viewing angle of the LCD will play more and more important part in avoiding the leakage of personal information in the information age.
