Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of different sedative drugs on sedation in critically ill patients and the quality of life. Methods 87 cases of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU from May 2013 to February 2016 were divided into the study group ( 47 cases ) and the control group ( 40 cases ) according to random number table method. The study received propofol intravenous seda-tion, and the control group received midazolam intravenous sedation. The Ramsay scores of the two drugs were maintained at at 3-4 points during treatment. After stopping medication and awake, the patients were given spontaneous breathing test to observe the sedative effects and the influence on quality of life. Results The time of reaching sedation, time of stopping medication to extubation, the total sedation time, and ICU length of stay in the two groups had no significant differences ( P ﹥ 0. 05 ) , but the time of stopping medication to awakening and mechanical ventilation time had significant differences in the two groups ( P ﹤ 0. 05 ) . After treatment, the quality of life scores of the two groups after treatment had statistical significance ( P ﹤ 0. 05 ) . Conclusion Propofol and midazolam for sedation can both be used in critically ill patients, and is safe and effective. Compared with midazolam, propofol has a more rapid onset, shorter awakening time, and quality of life improved significantly. The clinical needs to choose the right drug use according to the actual situa-tion of the patient.关键词
