Abstract
Objective To discuss the effect of 5%compound Lidocaine cream on lumbar puncture in children.Methods Eighty inpatient children for lumbar puncture were randomly divided into intervention group and control group with 40 cases in each.In the intervention group 0.5%compound Lidocaine cream was smeared with the dosage of 0.5g/5cm2 on the skin round the lumbar puncture point and covered with sterile and transparent dressing for about one hour before lumber puncture.The transparent dressing and cream were removed and conventional lumbar puncture was performed.In the control group 2%compound Lidocaine was injected as local infiltration anesthesia before conventional lumbar puncture. The children ’ s heart rate, breathing, complaint of pains, lumbar puncture success rate, discomfortableness after lumbar puncture were observed and recorded by a special person.Results In the intervention group children’ s complaint of pains(χ2 =61.596), lumbar puncture success rate (χ2 =6.135), discomfortableness after lumbar puncture(χ2 =6.275)were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P<0.05).The heart rate (t=27.594) and breathing (t=4.567) of children in the control group were faster after lumbar puncture than before (both P<0.05), but the heart rate (t=0.516) and breathing (t=2.716) of children in the intervention group did not have significant difference before and after lumbar puncture (all P>0.05).Conclusion Good effect can be achieved by 5% compound Lidocaine cream on relieving pain caused by lumbar puncture for children, and the effect is prominent.Compound Lidocaine cream is suitable for peadiatric clinical treatment.关键词
