Correlation of Pacific Sea Surface Temperature with Aerosol Optical Depth over China
摘要
Abstract
The temporal and spatial variations of aerosol optical depth (AOD)over China were an-alyzed by empirical orthogonal function (EOF),then the relationships between the AOD and sea surface temperature (SST )of the Pacific were analyzed by the singular value decomposition (SVD)using AOD of MODIS and SST of NOAA from 2001 to 2014.The results showed that:(1) There are two main modes in AOD over China,namely,the first mode and the second mode.The EOF1 shows that AOD variation over China is in-phase,and changes in the North China Plain reached the maximum,but this change has a trend of decreasing;the north and south China is an-ti-phase in EOF2;(2 )SVD1 shows that AOD over China is negatively correlated with mid-east-ern Pacific SST ,and has a positive correlation with SST of area on both sides of mid-eastern Pa-cific;SVD2 shows AOD over northwest China is highly positive correlated with the middle lati-tude ocean SST of western Pacific.关键词
