An Improved Phase Gradient Autofocus Method for Bistatic SAR

Abstract
In real bistatic synthetic aperture radar(BiSAR)system,the motion errors of the platform are inevitable,which will corrupt the final imaging result.Thus effective and accurate motion error estima-tion and compensation are the preconditions of precise BiSAR imaging.Focusing on the problem of motion errors of BiSAR,an improved phase gradient autofocus(PGA)algorithm for motion compensation is pro-posed.Different from the traditional PGA algorithm,the improved one takes both the range-dependent phase errors and the profile shifts into consideration,and results in higher precision of motion error estimation. Meanwhile,the local maximum likelihood estimation idea is expanded into the proposed improved PGA algo-rithm,which improves the efficiency of the algorithm effectively.Experiments on the real bistatic SAR data validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.关键词
