Qualitative research on training needs of general practitioners

Abstract
Objective:To explore the theoretical structure of general practitioners’ training needs and to provide evidence for the general practitioners’ training. Methods:Semi-structured interviews were conducted on general practitioner standardized training among relevant personnel from October,2015 to March,2016 and the data were analyzed by Nvivo 8.0 from Australia. Results:General practitioners’ training needs traits contained four dimensions and 19 elements. Person in different professional subjects had cognitive differences in the structure of psychological quality:general practitioner interns attached more attention to dedication;teachers paid more attention to patience and devotion to work;general practitioners attached importance to cooperative consciousness and communication ability;managers of general practitioner office emphasized more on clinical skills. Conclusion:It is suggested that the training of general practitioners first meet the needs of the society,respect the practical needs of general family medicine,design training that meet the needs of general practitioners and easy to practice,continuously optimize training structure,change training methods and make systematic training strategy that is appropriate for general practitioners.关键词
