Abstract
Modular multilevel converter (MMC) based on clamp double sub-module (CDSM) has high utilization of switching devices and ability of DC fault ride through. Modeling large-scale CDSM-MMC in electromagnetic transient simulation (EMT) program presents a significant challenge. To address this problem, a detail Thévenin’s equivalent model is proposed based on Dommel equivalent computation theorem. To improve the accuracy of simulation of the model in blocked state, an interface function of the switching devices of EMTDC is introduced, and the equivalent circuit switching between blocked state and normal state is designed. Furthermore, a switching signal model is proposed in order to further improve the efficiency of simulation based on average equivalence. The simulation results of the conventional detailed model and proposed models built in PSCAD/EMTDC verify the accuracy and efficiency of proposed models.关键词
