The advanced application of quantitative susceptibility-weighted imaging in acute ischemic stroke

Abstract
Susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) is highly sensitive to the veins, blood composition, calcium, and iron deposition. It has been extensively used in the diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease. During recent years, the early diagnosis and evaluation of acute ischemic stroke using quantitative susceptibility-weighted imaging became the focus of research. The SWI has the advantage of the detection of thrombus, asymmetrical prominent cortical veins, asymmetrical deep medullary veins, and the judgment of changes in blood oxygen saturation in acute ischemic stroke. Moreover, SWI can be used to guide and predict the clinical treatment and prognosis. In this paper we reviewed the new application of quantitative susceptibility-weighted imaging in the acute ischemic stroke.关键词
