摘要

Abstract

The capacitance of liquid crystal cell is associated with the value of external applied voltage. When the temperature of the liquid crystal is changed,the capacitance of liquid crystal cell will also change even if the applied voltage has a certain value.In order to research the influence of tempera-ture,adopting the method of alternating current (AC)bridges,the capacitance of parallel aligned ne-matic (PAN)liquid crystal cell filled in liquid crystal 5CB is measured experimentally,where the pre-cision hot stage (LTS350,Linkam)is used to control the temperature of liquid crystal cell.The volt-age-capacitance characteristic curves of PAN cell for different temperatures are obtained.Within the scope greater than the threshold voltage,with the increasing of temperature the capacitance of PAN cell increases gradually under the same voltage and the curve slope is gradually reduced,which sug-gests that LC transforms gradually into the isotropic state.The study has certain guiding significance on further analyzing the dielectric constant of liquid crystal material.
