Theoretical Research on Negative Effect Problems Caused by Generator Tripping in Transient Stability Control Based on Trajectory Characteristic

Abstract
Generator tripping is usually taken in advanced generator group in transient stability control. There are many methods for selecting the right generators tripped, but it is lack of theoretical analysis and detection method on negative effect problems caused by generator tripping. For this problem, with theω−δ curves of motion of a generator in disturbed power system, this paper defined positive effect area and negative effect area of generator tripping according to the transient instability trajectories. Based on the detailed analysis of boundary conditions of generator tripping, control effect in multi-machine power system was discussed and the mechanism of negative effect problems caused by generator tripping was shown, then a method to detect the negative effect before control actions taken was presented. This method only needs wide-area measurement information, can detect the generators to avoid negative effect. Simulation results show that the method is effective and can offer technical support for real-time transient stability analysis based on wide-area measurement information.关键词
