Abstract
As recent years witness more and more people entering our country with companion animals,one of the priorities for inspection and quarantine services at each port of entry is to safely guard against gateways of our country and prevent the introduction of diseases by infected companion animals. This article made analysis on real problems faced by inspection and quarantine services at Shijing port,Fujian province in supervising the entry of companion animals related to checking the authenticity of the inspection and quarantine certificates,being lack of designated animal quarantine stations and cracking down smuggling cases. Based on the study,the following suggestions were made in order to provide reference for the improvement of existing inspection and supervision measures for the entry of companion animals into China. These suggestions include strengthening international and regional cooperation, checking and verifying inspection and quarantine certificate by information-based means,improving the condition of designated quarantine station of entry animals,enhancing coordination and cooperation among CIQ at different areas and intensifying collaboration with other joint inspections services at ports of entry.关键词
