摘要
Abstract
An experimental investigation on the mode-1 intralaminar toughness of cross-ply laminated composites with different layups manufactured using T800S /M21 prepregs was presented in this report.The type of pre-cracked specimen that used was double edge notched tension (DENT) specimen.Widths of the specimens were 44,52,60,68,76,84,92,100 mm with the same notch length /width ratio of 0.5 to study the size effect based on the size effect law proposed by Bazant.The loads as well as the displacements during the failure were monitored.The limitation of present data reduction methods from ASTM E399 was discussed;two different data reduction schemes were used and the results were compared to published data.The failure modes of all specimens were discussed based on the fractography analysis.Nominal strengths of all the specimens were measured to study the size effect and the results were compared with Bazant’s work.关键词
