A Novel High-frequency Multilevel Inverter With Capacitors Self-balancing

Abstract
Development of high frequency ac (HFAC) power distribution system (PDS) has made new requirements on the inverters used as its sources, for which the traditional topologies are no longer suitable due to their complicated structures and high switching-frequency. A novel high-frequency (HF) multilevel inverter with capacitors self-balancing was proposed. It outputs nine levels through the series and parallel conversion of two capacitors and one voltage source, and the simplified structure along with the low operating frequency contributes to the increase of transmission efficiency. Selected harmonic elimination (SHE) method was adopted to further reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD). The operational principle and parameter calculation are introduced, based on which, the simulation and experiment were carried out. The consequences verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis, and indicate that the proposed inverter is appropriate to be used as the source side in HF field.关键词
