Abstract
Objective:To explore the expressions of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER)-2 protein and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)in gastric cancer tissues and their mutual relationships.Methods:Paraffin samples from 125 patients with gastric cancer who received radical operation for gastric cancer served as observation group,while those from normal tissues >5 cm away from cancerous tissues in 50 patients as control group.Immunohistochemical staining of HER-2 and VEGF were conducted to the samples in both groups to observe the staining results and calculate positive staining rate.And the relationship between HER-2 and VEGF in gastric tissues in observation group was analyzed.Results:Observation group was markedly higher in the positive staining rates of HER-2 and VEGF than control group,and the differences were significant (P <0.05).Spearman rank correlation analysis was per-formed to analyze the expression rates of HER-2 and VEGF in the gastric tissues in observation group,and the results indicated that HER-2 expression was in positive association with VEGF (r =0.231 ,P <0.05).Conclusion:HER-2 and VEGF may play certain func-tion in the development and progression of gastric cancer,and HER-2 may increase the tumor angiogenesis by up-regulating VEGF.关键词
