Abstract
This paper proposes a panel Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC)estimation of the relationship between hazardous waste (HW)generation and economic development in China in 1996-2013.Meanwhile, the paper explores the impact of the HW utilization and harmless disposal level on the relationship between HW generation and economic development.The results show that firstly,the HW generation nationwide first decreases and then increases,and decreases again with the economic development.However,there is regional difference.The EKC of the Central China presents “inverted-N”type,while that of the Eastern and Western China presents “N”type with increasing tendency.Secondly,the HW comprehensive utiliza-tion has great influence on hazardous waste reduction in China,but the disposal level does not.The HW u-tilization level is decreasing from the east to the west of China.The paper comes up with suggestions on HW reduction,recycling and harmless disposal policy for China’s HW management.关键词
