Inspiration in Eden Project Innovative Thinking in the Planning and Construction of Botanic Garden
摘要
Abstract
Eden Project located in Cornwal , UK, is built in different style from traditional botanic gardens. Not only focus of construction is on the plants col ection, but also ecological restoration and ecological construction are regarded as the leading role. Based on the need of local society and economy development, the botanic garden site is located in an abandoned mine, the technique and material of construction wil base on ecological ideas, the art of building and sculpture are closely around the theme of environment protection and sustainable development. Fol ow the theory of economic botany and ethnobotany, Eden project’s planning and construction highlight the relationship between people and nature, specialized garden mainly col ects and shows varied plants indifferent purpose of use and in different region. By a wide range of events and entertainment, and multi-level education course, Eden project keep persistent attraction. It is an inspiration to those constructions of botanic garden in nowadays, which includes focusing on ecology and environmental protection, serving the whole community, pursuing the social value.关键词
