Abstract
Objective To investigate the effective mechanism of puerarin on osteoarthritis in rabbit models .Methods Sixty New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into normal group ,model group and puerarin treatment group ,with 20 rabbits in each group . No treatment was performed in rabbit of normal group .Knee osteoarthritis models were established in rabbits of model group .Two weeks after establishment ,puerarin were used to treat rabbit models .At the 6th and 10th week after treatment ,levels of nitrogen monoxidum(NO) ,inducible nitricoxide synthase(iNOS) ,superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malonaldehyde(MDA) in serum and syn‐ovial fluid were measured .Results At the 6th week ,compared with normal group ,NO ,iNOs and MDA levels in synovial fluid and serum of model group were increased significantly ,and SOD level was decreased significantly(P<0 .05) .While the changes of NO , iNOS and SOD levels in puerarin treatment group were not significant(P>0 .05) ,and MDA level was increased significantly(P<0 .05) .At the 10th week ,compared with normal group ,NO ,iNOs and MDA levels in synovial fluid and serum of model group and treatment group were increased significantly ,and SOD level was decreased significantly(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Puerarin could be with protective effects on osteoarthritis by changing levels of NO ,iNOS ,SOD and MDA .关键词
