Abstract
Use of ultrafiltration membranes in the upgrading process for drinking water plants has become increasingly popular. A primary issue is the suitable combination of ultrafiltration membranes and the conventional drinking water treatment process. This paper provides a summary of combined techniques using ultrafiltration membranes in the upgrading processes for drinking water plants in China. The effects of pretreatments involving pre-oxidation, coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration on the ultrafiltration membrane are analyzed. Based on the mechanisms of ultrafiltration membrane fouling control, the suitability of different combined processes is evaluated, providing references for water plant design.关键词
