Abstract
A comprehensive bonded zone is an ultra-limit building with plane and vertical irregularity. It uses steel-concrete mixed frame structural system and contains large torsion effect. BRB and VFW were used as energy dissipation devices in this building. BRB has significant effects on controlling the torsion by improving the stiffness of the structure, and VFW was used for reducing seismic response by increasing the damping ratio of the structure. The elasto-plastic time history analysis was carried out by MIDAS/GEN to study the seismic behavior of the structure under rare earthquakes. The results suggest that the structure has satisfactory performances under rare earthquakes, and the structure satisfies the code requirements of standing without collapse under rare earthquake. The detailed finite element analysis on the joints using a finite element program called ABAQUS was done to guarantee the safety of the structure.关键词
