Abstract
Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of hand foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Wuzhong District of Suzhou City from 2011 to 2015 in order to provide the scientific basis for formulating the targeted prevention and control strategy. Methods The descriptive epidemiological research method was adopted to analyze the cases information collected from the National Disease Reporting Information System. Results A total of 10 915 cases of HFMD were reported in Wuzhong District within these 5 years,the mean annual incidence rate was 191.63/100 000. In addition to significant increase of incidence rate during 2014,the rest annual incidence rate changed little. The onset was concentrated at the infants and young children aged 5 years old or below,accounting for 94.0%(10 260/10 915),moreover the incidence rate in males was higher than that in females. The incidence rate in urban areas was higher than that in suburban areas. The onset time had obvious seasonal characteristics,the reported cases were fewer from February to March and the onset peak was summer and autumn. Conclusion The incidence rate of HFMD is higher in Wuzhong District. So the control of epidemic situation in the infants and young children aged 5 years old or below should be strengthened ,the health education of the floating population should be paid more attention , moreover the two seasons of summer and autumn are the seasons as the focus of prevention and control.关键词
