Effects of general anesthesia and epidural anesthesia on postoperative short-term cognitive function in elderly patients with department of orthopedics

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of general anesthesia and epidural anesthesia on the short-term postoperative cognitive function of elderly patients in department of orthopedics.Methods:104 elderly patients with department of orthopedics operation were selected.According to different anesthesia methods they were divided into two groups.Patients in the observation group were treated with epidural anesthesia,and the control group were treated with general anesthesia.Patients in the two groups were recorded before anesthesia,after anesthesia before surgery,surgery for half an hour,postoperative patients with mean arterial pressure,and the mini mental state examination volume table(MMSE)of two groups of patients at different time points of cognitive function were measured.Results:24 h after anesthesia,the cognitive function scores of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Comparing with general anesthesia,epidural anesthesia has less influence on the short-term postoperative cognitive function in the elderly patients.关键词
