Abstract

The purpose of this study is to use order analysis method to solve the diesel engine’s beat vibration problem. Through the order tracking technology in vibration analysis, the vibration test method for the diesel engines with beat vibration problem is studied. In the engine speed range, the abnormal order of 1.09 is found through the analysis of the results. After scanning the diesel engine system, the reason of beat vibration is found to be the ratio of the engine crankshaft gear’s tooth number to the air compressor gear’s tooth number, 24:22. By correcting the gear’s tooth number ratio to be 1, the beat vibration of the diesel engine disappears. The methods proposed in this paper appear to provide a reference for solving similar problems for other mechanical products.
