摘要

Abstract

Aiming at the safety requirements to trim propellant grains, the milling method with a constant cutting speed, chip breaking and small power was presented. The trimming system uses gantry three coordinate measuring instrument for the body, a⁃dopting new technology integration of DCC multi⁃axis motion controller plus Parker drive unit plus online monitor system plus a spe⁃cial milling cutter head. Using trigger probe instrument calibration system of milling cutter, a special milling cutter head and com⁃bustion chamber are levelled and aligned relatively in a coordinate system without manual adjustment of the workpiece,which re⁃solves the problem of concentric inner surface of trimming propellant grain for large motors. Using simulation test of the inert propel⁃lant grain, the processing accuracy of dimensions, cylindrical degree and propellant surface roughness meet the technical specifica⁃tions;cooling, camera and temperature measuring device work properly. The process safety of trimming system of propellant grain was examined for solid rocket motors.
