Percutaneous vertebroplasty combined with hyperextension postural reduction and percutane-ous kyphoplasty for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures

摘要

Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of percutaneous vertebroplasty( PVP) combined with hyperex-tension postural reduction and percutaneous kyphoplasty ( PKP ) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF). Methods Eighty-one patients (112 vertebraes) with OVCF were divided into PVP combined with hyper-extension postural reduction group and PKP group. The operation time, X-ray exposure time, hospitalization cost and duration, visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index(ODI), recovery of fractured vertebrae height of two groups were compared. Results The follow-up time ranged from 8 months to 24 months, the operation time, X-ray exposure time, hospitalization cost and duration had significant difference between two groups, and they were more in the PKP group(P<0. 05). VAS,ODI and vertebrae height were statistically improved in both groups after surgery(P<0. 05). But there were no significant difference between the groups (P>0. 05). Conclusions Both PVP combined with hyperextension postural reduction group and PKP group have the same clinical curative effect for OVCF,but the former has shorter operation time, less hospitalization cost than the latter.
