Abstract
Objective:The aimed of this article is to use computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing ( CAD/CAM) technique to fabricate a case of edentulous patient by digital over-complete dentures.Methods:An edentulous patient,who had two residue roots which were finished root canal treatments and restoration of metal caps,was retorted with digital over-complete denture as follow procedures:according to clinical operation of conventional complete denture to do im-pression,to record Gothic arch tracing,to transfer occlusal record with facebow,to set up articulator,to scan articulator with model,to finish virtual arrangement of teeth and occlusal movement in CAD virtual articulator,to mill the wax base and artifi-cial tooth,to connect artificial tooth to wax base.The patient was satisfied with both tying in the conventional wax pattern of digital over-complete denture and in three dimensional digital virtual wax pattern.Processing the acrylic resin and finishing adjustment and insertion of digital over-complete dentures.Results:The denture ’ s retention and stability were better, it worked aesthetically and had well function.Conclusion:The digital complete overdentures compared to conventional den-tures,had many advantages as follow:technology of digital arrangement of teeth, the precise occlusal design and occlusal curve,consistent thickness of base plate,and short adaptation for patient.Therefore,it had to be a development direction for production of full denture in future.关键词
