An Extracting Method of Resistive Leakage Current for Zinc-Oxide Surge Arrester with Time Base Set at Zero-Point of Middle Phase’s Voltage

Abstract
Zinc-oxide surge arresters, which are able to limit the over-voltage of grid, are the main protection equipment in power system. Before diagnosing the running status of arresters, it is necessary to monitor the resistive leakage current on-line. A new extracting method is proposed in this paper, according to the different resistive leakage current extracting methods, based on the leakage current harmonic analysis at zero-point of voltage. The mathematical derivation can prove that this new method can not only eliminate the interference of the harmonic voltage and the inter-phase coupling capacitance completely, but also avoid the influence arising from the fault of one phase arrester, the differences of three phases and the voltage fluctuation. Therefore, the operation and status of zinc-oxide surge arresters will be diagnosed timely and precisely, based on extracting the resistive leakage current accurately through the proposed method.关键词
