Exploring the Meaning of Life from Memory and Narration---On Julian Barnes’ Novels
摘要
Abstract
Julian Barnes is very skillful at writing by memory and narration, which are often employed in his works. Memory is not always reliable, and narration is mostly fictional. Therefore, readers’ impression on Barnes’ novels is a mix of being fictional and authentic, amiable and natural, humorous and philosophical. The paper analyzes a few works by Barnes, hoping that readers can appreciate Barnes’ various writing styles and philosophical ideas.关键词
