Abstract

The imbalanced development between the rural areas in vocational education in our country is seri⁃ous. This article reviewed the relevant data of 14 cities and prefectures of Hunan Province in the past 10 years and conducted a quantitative contrastive analysis on the absolute and relative differences by selecting five indexes including the number of schools, enrollment size, the number of in-school students and the number of graduated students and the number of full-time teachers. Results showed that the rural vocational education in the cities and prefecturesexperienced a rapid development since 2003, but the gaps were very large and differentiation was serious. Years since 2010 witnessed the narrowing of gaps though with a slow speed.
