Safety hidden dangers and countermeasures of infusion in pediatric outpatient clinic

Abstract
Objective To analyze the potential safety risk factors in pediatric outpatient infusion, and to improve the quality of nursing. Methods 13216 cases of children given infusion therapy in our hospital outpatient service from January 2014 to December 2014 were selected as control group. The safety hidden dangers in the outpatient pediatric transfusion were analyzed, and the improvement measures and nursing plan were carried out on these grounds. 14377 cases of children with infusion from January 2015 to December 2015 after the implementation of the corrective measures and nursing programs were selected as observation group. The safeties of pediatric infusion of the two groups were compared. Results The common pediatric outpatient infusion safety hazard phenomenon include: orders defects, problems with drugs, operational problems, drug extravasation and so on. There was significant difference (0.17% vs. 0.67%) between the observation group and the control group (P < 0.05). The satisfaction survey scores of observation group were significantly higher than those of control group [(87.9±5.2) vs.(74.7±4.8), P < 0.05]. The rate of complaints in the observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (0.08% vs. 0.54%,P < 0.05). Conclusion The method of analyzing the hidden dangers of transfusion safety factors and making corresponding countermeasures can effectively reduce the incidence of unsafe events in pediatric outpatient infusion,and improve nursing satisfaction.关键词
