Comparison of traditional indirect inguinal approach and improved Stoppa approach in treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures

Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical therapeutic effect and value of traditional indirect inguinal approach and improved Stoppa approach in treatment of pelvic and acetabular fractures. Methods Patients with pelvic and acetabular fractures cured in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College from January 2010 to June 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 26 cases were treated with traditional indirect inguinal approach, and 17 cases were treated with improved Stoppa approach. Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, fracture reduction effect and postoperative complications of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the traditional indirect inguinal approach method, operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume of improved Stoppa approach method were less (P < 0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the postoperative complications and the effect of fracture reduction. Conclusion Stoppa approach is a worthy choice of surgical approach in pelvic and acetabular fractures. It can significantly shorten the operation time, and reduce the amount of bleeding and postoperative drainage.关键词
