Abstract
Objective To compare the sensitivity and specificity of three methods in detection of helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection. Methods 200 patients admitted in our hospital from May 2014 to May 2015 were selected randomly. These patients finished simultaneously the detecting of 13C urea breath test, serum antibody and histopathology. Positive result on histopathology in detecting H. Pylori was viewed as the diagnostic criteria. Finally the positive rate, sensitivity and specificity of the three tests were calculated. Results The positive rate of 13C urea breath test, serum antibody and histopathology was 81.5%, 84.0% and 78.5% respectively. There was no statistically significant difference of the three tests (χ2=1.998, P > 0.05). The sensitivity of 13C urea breath test, serum antibody and histopathology was 96.97%, 97.64% and 95.63% respectively. The three tests had no significant difference(χ2=3.07, P > 0.05). The specificity of 13C urea breath test, serum antibody and histopathology was 91.43%, 93.33% and 90.00% respectively. No significant difference was observed in the three tests (χ2=3.07, P > 0.05). Conclusion There is no significant difference of the three tests in detecting H. pylori infection. 13C urea breath test is a simple, noninvasive and painless test. It is an ideal tool to detect helicobacter pylori.关键词
