Abstract
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of syphilis in Huidong County,Guangdong Province,China from 2005 to 2014 hence to provide evidence for the development of syphilis control targeted strategies.Methods The syphilis data gathered in the national disease surveillance reporting system were used for our analysis.Results From 2005 to 2014,2 184 cases of syphilis were reported.64.2% of them were latent syphilis.The incidence of the disease was growing annually.The incidence rate of syphilis was 41.05/100 000 in the year of 2014.Among the reported cases between 15 and 29 years of age,female patients were 3 times of male patients.Conclusion The growth of the reported cases and incidence of syphilis in Huidong County from 2005 to 2014 was due to the improvement of case detection with syphilis serological tests,especially the increase of latent syphilis detection.To enhance the safe sex education along with the free condom delivery toward the young women will be helpful to control the syphilis spread.关键词
